Ontario Gas Prices Tumble Amid Global Oil Market Shift
Ontario drivers will see a temporary reprieve at the pumps this week as gasoline and diesel prices are expected to drop. According to Dan McTeague, head of Canadians for Affordable Energy, prices will fall by two cents per litre for gasoline on Wednesday, while diesel prices will decrease by 10 cents.
The price decrease is attributed to eased oil prices on global energy markets, following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of harsh economic sanctions against Iran and increased shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
McTeague predicts that the Greater Toronto Area's Wednesday morning (peak) gasoline prices will be 174.9 cents per litre of regular-grade gasoline.
