OPEC+ Agrees to Boost Oil Production Amid Global Market Uncertainty
OPEC+, the alliance of major oil-producing countries, has agreed to increase its production by 188,000 barrels per day starting in September. The decision was made during a virtual meeting on Sunday and reflects the group's commitment to supporting stability in the global oil market.
The seven participating countries - Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman - will implement this production increase as part of the gradual unwinding of voluntary cuts announced in April 2023. This move is expected to provide an opportunity for these countries to accelerate their compensation plans for previous overproduction.
