OPEC+ Approves 188K BPD Oil Output Increase for September

OPEC+, the alliance of major oil-producing nations, has agreed to increase crude oil production by approximately 188,000 barrels per day (BPD) from September 2026.

This move marks another step in reversing the voluntary production cuts introduced in 2023, as the alliance continues its strategy of gradually restoring oil supplies to the global market.

The decision was taken by key producers including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman.

However, analysts believe that despite the higher production quota, the actual impact on global oil supplies may be limited due to ongoing Middle East geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions.
