OPEC+ Completes Rollback of Voluntary Oil Cuts with September Hike
OPEC+ has officially ended its plan to gradually restore voluntary production cuts by approving an increase in oil output for September. The group will raise production by approximately 188,000 barrels per day (bpd), completing the rollback of a 1.65 million bpd reduction.
This decision comes after several months of gradual increases, but it's worth noting that not all of the previously increased oil has made it to the global market due to disruptions linked to the Gulf war and issues in Russia and Kazakhstan.
The core OPEC+ producers, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Oman, approved the September increase. However, there is no clear indication of what will happen after this month, with some analysts predicting a pause in production increases.
