OPEC+ Halts Oil Output Increases in October Amid Market Uncertainty
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies have decided to pause oil output increases in October. This decision was made after a virtual meeting of OPEC+ member countries, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman.
The seven participating countries had been raising oil output on a monthly basis since April 2026. However, they have now decided to maintain the required production level for October 2026 at the same level as September 2026.
OPEC said that the seven countries will meet next time on October 4 to review market conditions.
