OPEC+ Set to Maintain Oil Output Policy Amid Disruptions

OPEC+ is likely to maintain its oil output policy unchanged for October at an upcoming meeting on Sunday, according to three sources close to the matter. This decision comes as the group completes the unwinding of one layer of production cuts this month and turns its focus towards 2027 quota negotiations.

The meeting involves seven core OPEC+ members: Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Oman. These countries have been raising monthly production quotas for most of this year.

However, actual output has lagged behind planned increases due to disruptions from wars in Iran and Ukraine affecting exports from the Gulf, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
