OPEC+ Sticks to Unchanged Oil Output Policy Amid Disruptions
OPEC+ has decided to keep its oil output policy unchanged for October, despite ongoing disruptions in the global market. At a meeting on September 6, seven core OPEC+ members agreed to maintain their current production levels, rather than making any adjustments.
The decision comes as the Iran war continues to impact oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz. The conflict has already resulted in reduced production from OPEC+, which is still producing below its targets due to the disruptions.
OPEC+ is a group of 23 countries, led by Saudi Arabia and Russia, that coordinate their oil production to stabilize global prices. Despite this effort, the current production boost agreed upon for September has not been fully implemented due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.
