Oregon Gas Prices Hold Steady Amid Crude Oil Price Drop
Oregon drivers are still feeling the pinch at the pump despite a recent drop in crude oil prices due to a pause in US-Iran hostilities.
According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular gas rose by 8 cents to $4.10 this week, while Oregon's price increased by just 7 cents to $4.64 per gallon.
The Portland metro area has the highest gas prices in the state, with an average price of $4.73 per gallon, followed closely by the Medford-Ashland area at $4.62 per gallon.
AAA's Marie Dodds notes that 'volatility is the name of the game' when it comes to oil and pump prices, which could rise again depending on developments in the conflict between the US and Iran.
The switch from summer-blend gasoline to winter-blend fuel for many areas, including Oregon, also contributes to higher gas prices due to its increased production costs.
