Orlando Gas Prices Soar Above $4 Per Gallon Amid Oil Price Spike
Gas prices in Orlando have reached $4.15 per gallon as oil costs continue to climb, according to AAA data. This marks a 31-cent increase from last week's average price of $3.85 per gallon.
The rise in gas prices is attributed to higher crude-oil prices after tensions in the Middle East intensified, increasing the cost to produce gasoline.
Florida's statewide average gas price has moved above $4 a gallon for the first time since June 1, with an increase of 23 cents from last week. The state's average gas price is now $4.14 per gallon, with prices ranging from $4.10 in the Melbourne-Titusville area to $4.17 in Daytona Beach.
AAA warns that Florida's regular-gas average could reach as high as $4.19 a gallon if oil prices remain elevated. The organization also notes that Florida's routine price-cycling pattern, which sees prices rise early in the week and ease later, may add volatility for drivers.
