ORLEN Locks in Norwegian Crude Supplies Under Three-Year Deal with Equinor
ORLEN has secured up to one-quarter of its annual crude oil requirements through a three-year deal with Equinor. The agreement, which will begin in September, allows for contracted volumes ranging from nearly 5 million tonnes to over 9 million tonnes annually.
The crude will primarily come from the Johan Sverdrup field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and be supplied to ORLEN refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania. According to Equinor, this agreement is an important contribution to European energy security.
ORLEN President Ireneusz Fafara highlighted the reliability of Equinor as a partner and emphasized that long-term cooperation can improve the resilience of the region's energy supply chain.
