Polish energy company Orlen has secured a three-year agreement to purchase crude oil from Norway's state-owned Equinor, securing up to one-quarter of its annual demand. The deal was announced in August 2026 and will see Equinor supply Orlen with between 5 million tonnes and over 9 million tonnes of crude oil per year from the Johan Sverdrup field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Equinor's Executive Vice President for Marketing, Midstream and Processing, Irene Rummelhoff, stated that the agreement demonstrates how energy from Norway contributes to Europe's security of supply. The partnership between Equinor and Orlen will expand their strategic ties in the European energy market.
