Ottawa Pushes Ahead with Secret LNG Project on East Coast

The Canadian government is moving forward with a massive liquefied natural gas project on the East Coast, despite concerns from environmental groups and the lack of transparency in the development process.

The project, developed by Marinvest Energy/Kino Aski, has not yet been officially presented to the Quebec population, but it is already being pitched to foreign investors at the Canadian Investment Summit in Toronto.

Louis Couillard, Climate & Energy campaigner for Greenpeace Canada, stated that 'the people of Quebec are being deliberately kept in the dark while the project moves forward behind the scenes.'

The federal government's approach has been criticized by environmental groups, who argue that it demonstrates a lack of transparency and disregard for public input.
