Pakistan Adjusts Fuel Prices, Petrol Down 94 Paisas, HSD Up 54 Paisas
The Pakistan government has made another adjustment to fuel prices, decreasing petrol by 94 paisas and increasing high-speed diesel (HSD) by 54 paisas per litre for August 13. The price of petrol is now fixed at Rs324.98 per litre, while HSD will cost Rs382.79 per litre.
This revision comes a day after the government decreased the price of petrol by Rs1.70 and increased the price of HSD by Rs1.39 per litre for August 12. The daily fuel price review mechanism was introduced on July 17 to align with international standards, taking into account a seven-day average of international market rates.
Petroleum products are one of Pakistan's largest import categories, making the economy vulnerable to changes in global crude oil prices. Domestic refineries satisfy only part of national demand, while the remainder is met through imports of crude oil and refined petroleum products.
