Pakistan Adopts Daily Fuel Price Revisions Amid Global Turbulence
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in Pakistan has announced revised petroleum rates for August 1, 2026. Under the new daily pricing mechanism, motor spirit (petrol) saw a decrease of Rs. 0.12 per litre, while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) finally saw a decrease of Rs. 0.66 per litre.
The updated rates reflect real-time movements in international crude and import premiums, effective immediately across all retail outlets nationwide. Petrol is now selling at Rs. 336.03 per litre, down from Rs. 336.16 yesterday, while HSD is priced at Rs. 392.38 per litre, down from Rs. 393.04.
The shift to daily price adjustments marks a fundamental transition for commuters, logistics companies, and supply chain operators. According to energy analyst Muhammad Faheem, the new system brings Pakistan in line with international supply practices, particularly during periods of acute Middle Eastern tension.
