Pakistan Deepens Ties with Saudi Arabia Amid Strategic Cooperation
Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari has praised Saudi Arabia for its steadfast support during difficult times, as he bid farewell to outgoing Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki.
The two countries have strengthened their ties in recent years, with a strategic mutual defense agreement signed last September and a joint defense pact with Turkey announced earlier this month. This cooperation aims to treat aggression against either country as an attack on both.
Zardari commended Al-Malki for advancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the political, economic, and trade spheres. During his tenure, Saudi deposits supported Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves, oil supplies were maintained on deferred payment terms, and investment commitments grew.
