Gold prices in Pakistan have surged by Rs13,700 per tola on Thursday, following a sharp rally in the international market. The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reported that 24-karat gold rates reached Rs471,936 per tola, up from the previous day's close of Rs458,236.

The price of 10-gram gold also rose by Rs11,746 to settle at Rs404,609. In comparison, silver prices increased by Rs369 to Rs7,169 per tola, while 10-gram silver rates rose by Rs317 to Rs6,146.

Market participants attributed the surge in bullion prices to renewed buying interest in the international market, amid ongoing global economic uncertainty that continues to drive investors towards safe-haven assets. Typically, gold prices in the local market are adjusted by a premium of $20 against rates in the international market, jewellers said.
