The gold market in Pakistan experienced a significant recovery mid-week, as prices rose to new levels. On Wednesday, one tola of gold was priced at Rs465,236, while 10 grams of gold cost Rs398,864. The price of silver also followed the upward trend, increasing by Rs185 per tola to Rs7,044.

The latest increase in domestic gold prices can be attributed to a strong rally in the international market. Global gold prices rose by $112 to $4,427 per ounce, which had a substantial impact on Pakistan's local market. This sharp movement in international bullion rates contributed to the significant increase in gold prices.

The precious metal has experienced volatility since the beginning of the year. Gold entered 2026 at approximately Rs457,000 per tola before embarking on a strong rally in January. The upward move reached its peak on January 29, when gold touched a record Rs572,862 per tola.
