The gold rate in Pakistan on August 28, 2026, remained unchanged at Rs483,036 per tola for 24-carat gold, while the price for 10-gram gold was Rs414,125 in the local bullion market. The silver rate also stayed the same at Rs7,509 per tola and Rs6,437 per 10 grams.

The precious metal's prices in Pakistan closely follow the trajectory of the US dollar and international rates as the country remains a net importer of gold. When the rupee is under pressure, investors take refuge in this safe-haven metal, which is widely used in making jewelry.

Gold and silver prices are fixed by the respective Sarafa associations in their city. The precious yellow metal has been valued across cultures for thousands of years as a symbol of wealth and a store of value.
