Pakistan Issues Third LNG Tender Amid High-Price Rejections

Pakistan has issued its third tender for an LNG cargo for September delivery after rejecting two previous tenders due to high-priced bids. The latest tender, floated by Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL), invites international suppliers to bid for a cargo scheduled for delivery between September 12 and 16.

The deadline for submission of bids is set for September 8, the same day when the offers received from suppliers will also be opened. This repeated tendering highlights the challenge facing Pakistan in securing LNG supplies at commercially acceptable rates while managing its energy requirements and containing the financial burden associated with expensive imported fuel.
