Pakistan Issues Third LNG Tender in September Amid High Prices
Pakistan has issued its third tender for liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies in September, after rejecting two previous tenders due to high prices.
The latest tender, floated by Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL), invites bids from international suppliers for an LNG cargo scheduled for delivery between September 12 and 16. The deadline for submission of bids is set for September 8, with the offers received to be opened on the same day.
This repeated tendering highlights the challenge facing Pakistan in securing LNG supplies at commercially acceptable rates while managing the country's energy requirements and containing the financial burden associated with expensive imported fuel.
