Pakistan Limits Power Outages to Two Hours Amid Growing Disruptions
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered power outages to be limited to two hours in any area of the country. He made this announcement during a meeting on electricity load management, where he expressed dissatisfaction over the growing number of power outages across Pakistan.
The prime minister also addressed concerns about gas supply disruptions, which have been affected by the situation in the Middle East and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. As a result, electricity generation has declined, prompting authorities to implement load management measures to balance supply and demand.
Sharif ordered immediate measures to eliminate disruptions in RLNG supplies and make effective use of all available resources. Additionally, he directed that consumer complaint committees be established at electricity distribution companies within a week to review appeals concerning electricity transmission and supply.
