Pakistan Rejects $26.97 MMBtu Spot LNG Cargo Bid Amid Qatari Supply Disruption

Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) has struggled to secure alternative supplies after QatarEnergy, a long-term supplier, declared force majeure following Iranian attacks on two of its main facilities in March.

The company sought an emergency spot LNG cargo bid for September, but the sole offer from BP Singapore was rejected due to the high price of $26.969 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).

With the tender re-advertised and new bids opening on September 4, PLL is seeking one spot LNG cargo from international suppliers for delivery at Port Qasim between September 8 and 12.
