Pakistan Stock Exchange Jumps on Easing Oil Prices
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) kicked off the trading week on a positive note due to easing oil prices and optimism over declining global crude prices.
The benchmark KSE-100 index surged nearly 2,750 points shortly after opening, with investors cheering the decline in oil prices. The index gained 1.56% from the previous close of 176,094.11, reaching a high of 178,985.94 and a low of 178,045.68.
Market activity remained healthy, with 177.11 million shares traded, generating a value of Rs13.77 billion. Buying was concentrated in key sectors, including commercial banks, oil marketing companies, cement, oil and gas exploration companies, and power generation.
