Pakistan Threatens Military Response After Houthi Claims Oil Tanker Attacks
Pakistan has warned that any attack on its commercial vessels in the Red Sea would be met with a strong military response. The warning comes after Yemen's Houthi movement claimed responsibility for missile and drone strikes against two Saudi oil tankers.
The Foreign Office spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, stated that Pakistan would regard an attack on its commercial shipping as an attack on national security, and would respond decisively.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a defense agreement in place, signed in September 2025, which includes cooperation on defense matters and the deployment of Pakistani military personnel in Saudi Arabia.
