Pakistani Flour Prices Rise Again Amid Wheat Shortage
Flour prices in Pakistan have increased for the second time this week, leaving consumers worried about their household budgets. Mill owners raised the price by Rs. 15 per kg, pushing market rates higher.
The current price of flour is now Rs. 5,300 per 40kg bag in Chiniot, while chakki flour costs Rs. 5,600 per 40kg bag. The increase has been attributed to a shortage of wheat and rising wheat prices, which have forced mill owners to raise their procurement costs.
Consumers are concerned about the rising prices, with some saying they've seen the price of a 10kg flour bag increase by Rs. 200 in just one week. They're urging authorities to take steps to control flour prices and ensure the availability of affordable wheat products in the market.
