Pakistani Gold Prices Fall Rs800 Amid International Decline

Gold prices in Pakistan declined sharply on Tuesday, September 1, following weakness in international bullion prices. The local Sarafa market saw a drop of Rs800 per tola in 24-karat gold, with its price falling to Rs465,336.

This decline is consistent with the weaker international market, where gold was trading at $4,367.86 per ounce, down $80.04 or 1.80%. Silver prices also moved lower in Pakistan, with the local rate falling by Rs50 per tola to Rs7,129.

The sharp international decline has provided important context for the fall in Pakistan's local gold rate. However, domestic quotations can be affected by currency movements and local market conditions, which means that international gold and local Pakistani rates do not move on an identical basis.
