Pakistan's Fuel Reserves Stable Amid Supply Pressure Concerns
Pakistan's fuel stocks are reportedly stable, but concerns persist among petrol pump owners who fear potential supply pressure. Authorities have reassured citizens that there is no need for panic buying or hoarding, as the country currently holds approximately 28 days of fuel reserves.
The government has warned against illegal hoarding and storage of petroleum products, with officials stating that strict legal action will be taken against any individual or business found engaging in such activities. Monitoring teams from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority are conducting regular inspections at oil depots and retail outlets to ensure smooth supply and prevent malpractice.
Despite these measures, some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have started restricting deliveries through a quota system, which has raised concerns among petrol pump owners about potential supply pressure. However, authorities maintain that the overall fuel situation in the country remains stable for now.
