Pakistan's Maize Exports Suffer Due to Poor Storage Practices
Pakistan's maize exports are being sold at a discount due to poor post-harvest handling, according to Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC).
The company claims that high moisture content and impurities caused by inadequate drying and storage at the farm level lead to a 10-15% discount in international markets.
LDC has inaugurated its first owned industrial operation in Pakistan, a 40,000 MT grain storage facility in Multan, which will help preserve quality and reduce losses.
