Pampa Energía Posts Record Sales Revenue Growth Amid WEM Reforms
Pampa Energía S.A., an independent energy company operating in Argentina's oil, gas, and electricity sectors, has released its results for the six-month period and second quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company reported a significant increase in sales revenue to $1.319 billion during this period, representing a 53% year-over-year growth.
This surge was primarily driven by the new deregulation framework of the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM), which led to higher spot energy prices and Business-to-Business Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) sales. Additionally, increased crude oil output and gas sales to power generation contributed to this growth. However, lower Plan Gas and petrochemical volumes had an offsetting effect.
Pampa's operational key performance indicators (KPIs) also showed notable improvements in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year. Oil production rose by 194% to 23.48 kilobars per day, while gas production increased by 10% to 84.17 kilobarrels per day.
