PANDEF Hails Tinubu Over FLNG Project Approval
The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting a 15-year gas supply framework to UTM Offshore Limited, a major step towards industrializing the Niger Delta region.
The framework will enable the construction of Nigeria's first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project, valued at billions of dollars, which is expected to stimulate economic development across the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.
PANDEF National Chairman, Amb. (Dr.) Godknows B. Igali, described the approval as 'momentous,' highlighting that the project involves UTM Offshore, Seplat Energy, and NNPC, demonstrating the capacity of Nigerian companies to participate meaningfully in the development of the country's gas industry.
The forum also praised the Managing Director of UTM Offshore, Dr. Julius Rone, OFR, for his investment in the project, which is expected to generate employment opportunities and stimulate other economic activities in the region.
