Paraguay's Agricultural Sector Experiences Significant Growth in Soy and Wheat Exports

Paraguay's agricultural sector is experiencing a significant boost in performance, with key exports of soy and wheat showing substantial increases compared to the same period last year. According to a recent report from Capeco, Paraguayan Chamber of Exporters and Marketers of Grains and Oilseeds, the country exported almost two million more tonnes of soybean grain between January and June 2026.

The data shows that soybean exports reached 5,894,301 tonnes by the end of June 2026, a 44% increase from the 4,106,112 tonnes shipped during the same period in 2025. This growth has naturally led to a significant rise in foreign currency income, with the soybean trade generating US$2.27 billion in the first six months of 2026.

The report also highlighted a notable 30% increase in wheat shipments from the 2025 harvest, with an additional 137,670 tonnes being shipped compared to the same period in 2024. This demonstrates a strong recovery and expansion in the cereal's export market, further diversifying the country's agricultural revenue streams.
