Pashinyan Reiterates Diversification Commitment Amid Gas Price Uncertainty
Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has reaffirmed his government's commitment to diversifying gas supply sources, regardless of price fluctuations. Speaking at a press briefing, Pashinyan emphasized that if there is an opportunity to obtain gas from a second or third source, Armenia will pursue it.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the potential benefits of a gas pipeline within the framework of the TRIPP project, which could provide transit revenue to the country. He noted that Gazprom Armenia, the main supplier of natural gas in Armenia, is a profitable company and makes large profits.
Pashinyan emphasized that diversification will not be limited to the energy sector alone but will be applied across various sectors. He stated that decisions regarding gas prices would depend on specific situations, and the government will explore all possible options to mitigate any potential increases in price.
