PEI Gas Prices Rise with Latest IRAC Adjustment

The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC) has announced an increase in gas prices on Prince Edward Island, effective July 24. The price of regular self-serve gas now ranges from 202.3 to 203.4 cents per litre, while premium gas is priced between 212.1 to 213.2 cents per litre. Diesel fuel increased by 4.0 cents per litre and furnace oil rose by 6.5 cents per litre.

The IRAC also noted changes in propane prices, with Superior Propane decreasing by 0.3 cents per litre and Irving Energy going down by 0.4 cents. However, the price for Kenmac Energy Inc. and Noonan Petroleum decreased by 2.0 cents per litre, while Avenir Energy saw no change.

IRAC cited the rising cost of Brent crude oil as a factor in the gas price increase. On July 20, 2024, the price of Brent crude oil was $95.36 per barrel compared to $69.55 per barrel on July 18, 2025.
