PENGASSAN and NUPRC Collaborate for 3m bpd Oil Output by 2030
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has pledged to collaborate with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) to achieve a goal of producing 3 million barrels per day by 2030.
PENGASSAN's new President, Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, stated that the union is committed to working closely with NUPRC to unlock this potential.
This goal aligns with President Bola Tinubu's ambition to increase production, as evidenced by the latest executive order aimed at deep offshore investments. Currently, Nigeria produces approximately 1.755 million barrels per day, up from a low of 1.1mmbopd in recent years.
NUPRC's Chief Executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, emphasized the importance of industrial stability to achieving higher production targets and sought PENGASSAN's support in this endeavor.
