Pennsylvania Ag Show Highlights Robotics in Farming
Ag Progress Days in Pennsylvania is hosting its 50th year at its current site, but this year marks a significant milestone for the event. The show features the debut of the FIRA Robotics Village East Coast, which showcases cutting-edge technologies designed to address labor shortages and improve efficiency on farms.
The village will be located in and around the Exhibit Building on West 5th Street at the Ag Progress Days site and will feature robotics and autonomous technologies applicable to a wide range of farms. On display will be a robot that works alongside people by carrying, following or towing materials to improve efficiency on farms, as well as an autonomous tomato-harvesting robot.
There will also be live demonstrations of robotics in the field demonstration area, with two robots set to go through corn and pumpkins. One robot is a weeder, while the other's purpose is not specified.
