Pennsylvania Fails to Catch Up on Solar Energy Amid Natural Gas Dominance

The report argues that Pennsylvania's reliance on natural gas is not only polluting but also unstable, as prices can fluctuate due to international markets. In contrast, neighboring New Jersey has set a goal of 50% renewable energy by 2030.
David Hess, a former secretary of the state's Department of Environmental Protection, notes that bills passed in the House have been stalled in the Senate due to opposition from Republican lawmakers who are influenced by the natural gas industry. He argues that this 'one-of-the-above' approach is detrimental to the state's energy future.
