Peoria Gas Prices Skyrocket to New Heights in August
Gas prices in Peoria have reached new highs this August, according to recent data from AAA Arizona. The state's average price rose by 2 cents per gallon over the past week, settling at $4.44 a gallon.
The national gasoline average has also hit an all-time high for August, with analysts pointing to higher crude oil prices as the main culprit.
Despite lower demand for gas, drivers in Peoria are still feeling the pinch. According to Gasbuddy, the cheapest per-gallon price is currently at the Arco on 9102 W. Peoria Ave., which is selling gas for $3.97 a gallon as of August 14.
Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, noted that 'crude oil prices are keeping pump prices higher than normal for this time of year.'
