Perth Mint Sees Surge in Gold and Silver Sales Amid Modest Spot Price Growth
The Perth Mint reported a surge in demand for its precious-metal products in July, with gold coin and minted bar sales reaching a three-month high.
The mint sold 30,871 ounces of gold coins and minted bars in July, up 3.8% from June and 41% from the same period last year.
Silver volumes also jumped significantly, with 486,043 ounces sold in July compared to 293,732 ounces in June.
The strong interest in minted gold bars and the 1oz Silver Rectangular Dragon coin was highlighted by general manager Neil Vance as a key driver of sales.
This uptick in demand comes despite spot gold prices rising only modestly in July, at just 0.8%.
