Petrobangla has issued a statement clarifying that there are no plans to raise gas prices at this time. The state-owned corporation made the announcement in response to recent media reports suggesting a possible tariff hike.

The proposed hike was linked to rising liquefied natural gas (LNG) import costs, which have put pressure on the energy sector. A fire at Excelerate Energy's floating storage and regasification unit off Moheshkhali has also reduced LNG regasification capacity and disrupted gas supplies.
