Sempra Infrastructure has secured a significant long-term buyer for its U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) portfolio, signing a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Petrobras.

The deal gives Petrobras access to approximately 800,000 tonnes per year of LNG from Sempra's Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project in Texas.

This marks the first South American company in Sempra Infrastructure's LNG customer portfolio and adds another major international buyer to its Port Arthur development.

Port Arthur Phase 2 is a significant expansion project that will add roughly 13 million tonnes per annum of liquefaction capacity through two additional trains, bringing total production capacity to around 26 million tonnes per year once both phases are operational.
