Petrol sales in India rose by 8.6% year-on-year in July, driven by increased mobility and stronger vehicle sales.

Diesel demand also jumped 9.4%, while jet fuel sales fell 1.4%. LPG consumption declined by 17.4%

The oil ministry's provisional data shows that the decline in LPG sales is due to supply disruptions since the Iran war started on February 28.

Jet fuel demand has been under pressure as higher fuel costs inflated airfares, impacting air travel demand.
