PETRONAS and Hokuriku Electric Renew LNG Supply Agreement
PETRONAS LNG Ltd., a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasational Berhad (PETRONAS), has signed a Heads of Agreement (HOA) with Hokuriku Electric Power Company to negotiate and conclude the renewal of their long-term Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supply agreement.
The HOA marks another milestone in the partnership between PETRONAS and Hokuriku Electric, reflecting the mutual confidence built over the years. The deal is expected to see PLL supplying up to 0.54 MTPA of LNG to Hokuriku Electric for a ten-year period from 2028.
PETRONAS and Hokuriku Electric also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 14, 2026, to explore strategic collaboration on carbon-neutral initiatives. The MOU reflects both parties' shared ambition to build a more resilient LNG supply chain and transition towards cleaner energy sources.
According to PETRONAS Executive Vice President Datuk Adif Zulkifli, 'PETRONAS is honoured to continue our enduring partnership with Hokuriku Electric. The HOA reflects the strong trust and collaboration that have been cultivated between both companies over the years.'
