PETRONAS and JOGMEC Bolster LNG Supply Partnership with Flexible Framework

PETRONAS and JOGMEC have strengthened their LNG supply partnership to Japan, establishing a flexible framework for future deliveries. This new agreement will facilitate negotiations between PETRONAS LNG Ltd., a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad, and the Japan Organization for Energy and Metals Security (JOGMEC) for supplies of liquefied natural gas.

The Master Sales and Purchase Agreement (MSPA) signed by both parties creates a more flexible commercial structure to respond to changes in Japanese energy needs. This mechanism will allow PETRONAS LNG to manage supply according to demand, while taking into account Malaysia's internal supply requirements.

JOGMEC is a Japanese government agency affiliated with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), which supports the implementation of Japan's energy and natural resource policies. The cooperation with international energy companies is part of Japan's strategy to ensure stable access to resources considered essential to its economy.
