Petronas and PTTEP Secure Approvals for Block A-18-01 Production Sharing Contract
Petronas and PTTEP subsidiaries have secured approvals from the governments of Malaysia and Thailand for a new production sharing contract covering Block A-18-01 in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area.
The 35-year agreement, which began on January 1, 2026, combines existing Block A-18 with an adjacent exploration area to unlock additional resource potential.
Block A-18-01 comprises nine gas fields and an open area, offering a natural gas production capacity of about 700 million standard cubic feet per day, distributed equally between Malaysia and Thailand.
