Petronas Inks Five-Year LNG Deal with Greek Energy Firm
Petronas, Malaysia's national oil and gas company, has secured a five-year agreement to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Greece. The agreement marks another step in Petronas' strategy to expand its LNG presence across West of Suez markets.
The deal was signed between Petco Trading (UK) Ltd, a unit of Petronas, and Metlen Energy and Metals Plc, a Greek energy company. Under the terms of the agreement, Petco Trading will deliver six LNG cargoes annually from Petronas' Atlantic portfolio, equivalent to about 0.6 billion cubic metres per annum (bcma), starting in 2027.
Petronas executive vice-president and chief executive officer of Gas & Maritime Business Datuk Adif Zulkifli said the agreement demonstrated the company's commitment to providing reliable and flexible LNG solutions as markets navigate energy security, affordability and energy transition priorities. 'This agreement with Metlen underscores Petronas' commitment to delivering reliable and flexible LNG solutions that support our customers' evolving energy needs,' he said.
