PETRONAS Inks Five-Year LNG Supply Agreement with METLEN
PETRONAS has signed a five-year agreement to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Greek energy company METLEN, according to World Oil. This deal marks an expansion of PETRONAS's reach into European and Mediterranean gas markets.
The sale and purchase agreement between PETCO Trading (UK) Ltd., a subsidiary of PETRONAS, and METLEN will see six LNG cargoes delivered to Greece each year starting in 2027. The annual volumes correspond to approximately 0.6 Bcm of natural gas, which is expected to help maintain natural gas availability in Greece and the wider Southeast European market.
PETRONAS's executive vice president and CEO of Gas & Maritime Business, Datuk Adif Zulkifli, stated that as markets balance energy security, affordability, and transition priorities, PETRONAS remains focused on creating value through its global LNG portfolio, trading capabilities, and partnerships.
