Petronet LNG Sees Revenue Plummet Amid Persian Gulf Disruptions

Petronet LNG's net profit fell by 15.4% quarter-on-quarter to ₹1,113 crore in the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year. Revenue dropped significantly, decreasing 41.2% to ₹5,554.1 crore from ₹9,442.1 crore in the previous quarter.

The decline was mainly due to supply chain disruptions in the Persian Gulf, which restricted the flow of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through the company's Dahej terminal. The terminal is a key part of Petronet LNG's business, and lower volumes directly impacted total sales figures.

Despite the drop in revenue, the company managed to increase its operating efficiency. The EBITDA margin rose to 27.6% from 19.7% in the March quarter, supported by gains from trading activities and better inventory management.
