Peyto Exploration Sees Strong Results Amid Natural Gas Price Volatility
Peyto Exploration & Development Corp., listed on the TSX as PEY, offers a 5.35% dividend yield, making it one of the higher-yielding Canadian natural-gas producers that attract income-focused investors.
The company currently pays a C$0.12 monthly dividend, equivalent to C$1.44 annually at the current rate. In May 2026, Peyto increased its monthly dividend by 9% from C$0.11 to C$0.12 per share.
Peyto delivered strong second-quarter 2026 results with Funds from Operations reaching C$227.7 million, up from C$191.3 million a year earlier. For the first six months of 2026, Funds from Operations reached approximately C$520.7 million compared to C$416.6 million in the same period of 2025.
The company's hedging programme continues to protect a significant portion of future revenue against natural-gas price weakness, providing a relatively strong balance-sheet position for a natural-gas producer. Peyto's net debt declined to approximately C$1.016 billion, down 18% year over year.
