Peza Eyes LNG Supply for Calabarzon Ecozones
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) is exploring the possibility of using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as an energy source for its economic zones in Calabarzon.
To achieve this, Peza has partnered with South Premiere Power Corp. and Linseed Field Corp., which operate the largest LNG import and regasification terminal in Batangas.
The two companies will conduct a feasibility study on an integrated LNG downstream supply system for the Calabarzon ecozones under a memorandum of understanding signed in July.
Peza Director General Tereso Panga stated that this collaboration could lead to an LNG supply agreement if feasible, providing locators with reliable and cost-effective energy.
