PEZA Partners with Energy Firms to Explore LNG Distribution in Calabarzon
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has partnered with energy firms South Premiere Power Corp. and Linseed Field Corp. to explore the feasibility of distributing liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Calabarzon-based economic zones.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on July 30 aims to establish a framework for studying the viability of an integrated LNG downstream supply system within PEZA's ecozones in the Southern Tagalog region.
The initiative seeks to assess the potential of LNG as a cleaner, scalable, and competitive fuel source for power generation and industrial applications. The study will explore the possibility of a supply agreement that can help meet the energy needs of Calabarzon, a key industrial hub.
PEZA Director-General Tereso O. Panga said, 'This MoU is a step toward ensuring that our locators never have to choose between reliable power and competitive costs.'
